Wireless Network Connection Tutorial

Wireless networking tutorial for: Windows XP, using the built in Windows XP wireless configuration.
Also available in presentation mode…
- If you haven't already done so, come by the Anthro IT office in Young 326, and get your wireless account activated/reactivated for the current quarter.
- Right click your wireless network connection icon in the task bar
- Select view available wireless network connections

- Left click 'change advanced settings' (left side of the window at the bottom of the list)

- make sure 'automatically use my Windows logon name and password' is NOT CHECKED
- click ok on all 4 of the wireless configuration windows we opened
- configuration is done!

- you should now be connected to the anthropology wireless network

Windows 7 Users
Additional Step Required

1) Click 'Advanced Settings' from the security tab
2) Check 'Specify Authentication mode'
3) select 'User Authentication'
4) click 'Replace credentials'
5) provide anthropology username and wireless password that was set previously
