  1. PhD in Anthropology from UC Davis, 2009

I'm interested in the co-evolution of norms and institutions for punishment and psychological mechanisms for punishment avoidance. How does the interaction of culture and biology lead to different cooperative outcomes? How do humans adapt to rapid fluctuation, across time and space, in the norms and institutions that regulate cooperation and punishment?

My toolbox includes experimental economic games (conducted in both university and 'naturalistic' settings), surveys, hormone assays, and genotyping.
