A.B. in Sociocultural Anthropology

A bachelor of arts degree in anthropology with a sociocultural emphasis is designed for students who are interested in understanding cultural complexities.

This A.B. degree (from the Latin "atrium baccalaureus") is preparatory for careers in:

  • diplomacy
  • international relations
  • public administration
  • journalism
  • environmental and natural resources

The curriculum requires completion of 64 to 68 units (including 20 to 22 units of lower-division preparatory subject matter, and 44 to 46 units of upper-division depth subject matter, including electives).
